Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Apex Medical Consulting LLC (“Apex,” “we,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, the patient portal, and the staff application (together, the “Services”). It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies include browser local storage, which keeps small settings on your device without sending them to a server. We use both, as described below.

2. Cookies we set

All of the cookies we set ourselves are strictly necessary to operate the Services. They are not used for advertising and are not shared with third parties.

  • sessionid — keeps you signed in to your account. Expires when you close your browser, or after two weeks if you choose “remember me.” Set with Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite attributes.
  • csrftoken — protects forms against cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • apex_consent — records the cookie choices you make in our consent banner, so we do not have to ask on every visit. Kept for 180 days.

3. Local storage we use

Signed-in users of the staff application have small interface preferences — such as dark-mode choice, the last active tab, and the last open conversation — kept in browser local storage. These values never leave your device and identify nothing about you to anyone else.

4. Optional cookies (loaded only with your consent)

On our public marketing pages — never in the patient portal, the onboarding process, or after you sign in — we use two measurement services. Neither loads unless you allow its category in the consent banner:

  • Google Analytics (“Analytics” category) — helps us understand how visitors use our marketing pages. Sets Google cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, which persist for up to 13 months. Google’s use of data is described in Google’s own privacy policy.
  • Meta pixel (“Marketing” category) — measures whether our advertising on Facebook and Instagram reaches the right people. Sets Meta cookies such as _fbp, which persists for about 90 days. Meta’s use of data is described in Meta’s own privacy policy.

5. Third-party content

A small number of pages load content from third parties, which may involve those parties receiving your IP address and, in some cases, setting their own cookies:

  • Google Maps — the map on our contact page loads from Google only after you allow “functional” cookies in the consent banner or click the map’s load button. Google’s use of data is described in Google’s own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google’s font servers, which receive your IP address as part of the request. No cookies are set.
  • jsDelivr — a content-delivery network that serves some of the site’s script libraries. No cookies are set.

6. Your choices

You can review or change your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer. Because our own cookies are strictly necessary, declining optional categories never affects sign-in or security — it only prevents the optional measurement services and third-party embeds above from loading. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in from working.

7. Changes to this policy

If we add or change measurement or advertising technologies, we will update this Policy, surface the change in the consent banner, and ask again for any consent the law requires before anything new loads.
